Description: The astronomy club at UC Irvine is a free club open to all majors and all levels of understanding of astronomy. The ultimate goal of the club is to form bonds and memories that will last a lifetime. The club aims to be active with meetings and events such as trips to the UCI observatory as well as Griffith Park. If you've never been outside of the city to a dark site to observe the stars under truly dark conditions then you're in for a treat as we feature trips to dark sites such as Joshua Tree where we take telescopes and spend the night looking at nebula, galaxies, planets and the moon. It will change how you see the night sky. If you've never seen the milky way with your eyes you will be amazed once you do.
