Funding Boards

UC Irvine has several funding opportunities for Registered Campus Organizations (RCOs). 

ASUCI Student Programming Funding Board (SPFB) 

The Student Programming Funding Board (SPFB) is one of the two branches a part of ASUCI funding board under the Office of the President. SPFB is comprised of funds from student fees, therefore, all events that SPFB funds must be open to the general public and target all UCI undergraduate students. SPFB does not fully fund charity events - in the case of charity events, loans may be issued. This funding board aims to maintain objectivity by operating fully on a rubric scale system and does not provide any arbitrary funds. Information: email SPFB@asuci.uci.edu

Multicultural Programs Committee Funding Board (MPFC)

MPFC allocates funding to eligible student organizations that are seeking to promote the Cross Cultural Center’s values through programming. RCOs seeking to host programs and events that foster and encourage diversity, education, and social justice are eligible to apply. Collaborative programming between campus organizations is highly encouraged.  Click here for more information.

The Green Initiative Fund (TGIF)

The Green Initiative Fund (TGIF) is a grant-making fund for sustainability projects on UC Irvine's campus. About $110,000 per academic year is available for grants; any undergraduate students, organizations, or collaboratives between organizations are eligible to submit project proposals.

Student Initiated Academic Preparation Program (SIAP)

The Student Initiated Academic Preparation Program (SIAP) provides funding to student organizations that are seeking to implement projects which focus on increasing the academic achievement and development of educationally disadvantaged high school students in order to assist them in preparing for a post-secondary education. Deadlines for larger, year-round projects are in mid October. Mini-grant funding is available year-round.

SOAR's Outreach Sponsorship

Student Outreach and Retention Center provides funding to student organizations that plan to outreach to prospective students. The maximum award is $300. Please click on the 'Apply Now' below to learn more.

Fifty for 50 Project Funding

This funding source is designed to provide opportunities for undergraduate students, graduate students, staff, faculty, alumni, and retirees/emeriti to extend their service efforts to include more participants and/or more projects through additional funding. While proposals for new events will be considered, funds are designed for enhancement of existing projects.

Proposals will be evaluated on the following:

  • Comprehensiveness of plans for event coordination and promotion
  • Potential for high levels of community impact
  • Clarity of goals and objectives, learning outcome incorporation
  • Plans for post-event collection of success metrics, learning outcome assessments, and testimonials
