Konnect at UC Irvine was founded in 2010 with a mission to put on the first annual Korean Culture Night and to provide an inclusive social, educational, and political space for individuals of Korean and non-Korean heritage. Konnect places a particular focus on traditional culture, the present Korean community, and inter and intra-community solidarity and collaboration.
Weekly meetings, annual programs, and special events are held throughout the year to promote friendship, learning, and/or informed political action as relevant to the Korean, APIA, and/or community-at-large. Notable events and meetings include: Japanese and Korean Cultural Experience, Korean Food Making, and the first collaborative Korean Culture Night on campus.
Konnect at UC Irvine is also a constituent of the Asian Pacific Student Association (APSA), a coalition of progressive APIA clubs on campus (apsauci.com).
